Like any professional sports teams, Major League Baseball organizations require a platform that can fit their specific needs. Through flexibility and customization, Kinduct's Athlete Management System has been the LA Dodgers preferred solution since 2017.

Client Requirements

The LA Dodgers were looking for an athlete monitoring tool to manage all of their major- and minor-league teams within their organization. The implementation goal was to have eight teams from the MLB down to the Dominican League using the software. An athlete monitoring tool such as Kinduct would enhance internal communication within each team from the medical staff, athletic therapists, and strength and conditioning staff. With many players being moved between the minor league teams, Kinduct’s Athlete Management System was able to bring the strength coaches up to speed on the current training status of the player.

Solution and Benefits

Kinduct’s Athlete Management System gives the Dodgers ability to provide and share information throughout the entire organization from top management, down to current roster players. Brandon McDaniel, the Dodgers’ head strength coach, laid out the value-adds Kinduct’s athlete monitoring tool has brought to his organization:

  • Using Kinduct’s strength and conditioning software to create training programs. This allows the coaches to have a record of what the athletes are doing while allowing access to track training load and volume.
  • Collecting subjective player information through Kinduct’s daily wellness questionnaires delivered to the athletes phones via text message.
  • Improved communication with the LA Dodgers internal database to create reports linking in-game performance data to workload metrics from practice and the weight room.
  • Integrating with MLBAM Statcast to further investigate pitching, hitting, and fielding values.
  • Monitoring athletes’ muscle soreness to identify potential scenarios of excess volume or maladaptation to training stimulus.
  • Establishing a consistent medical screening/performance testing database to evaluate year to year performance of player while allowing the comparison of players to track the development of upcoming prospects.
  • Providing recommended meal plans and nutritional menus for players in the offseason.
