Our Athlete Management System is a familiar platform in professional baseball. In this blog, we breakdown which key features and workflows of Kinduct that are most popular in the sport.

Automated Roster Management

Major League Baseball organizations are in control of hundreds of athletes. Between the majors and rookie leagues, a single organization can own the rights to roughly 500 players. These teams are in different cities, states, and sometimes even countries when you consider the Dominican Summer League. And during the season, as you know, players don’t just stay in one place: some are called up, others are sent down. Some may be placed on conditioning assignments or be instructed to complete their rehab at another team facility.

So how can an organization better manage these roster movements?

When using Kinduct, you can ensure that the data that’s been captured on each athlete moves as they do, all within one secure platform. This is done through our partnership with MLBAM.

Once the move is entered through MLBAM, it will automatically update in Kinduct.

What’s more, we allow MLB users to have sub-organizations for each minor league team within their core Kinduct platform, meaning that as athletes travel between the teams, so does their data profile.

All subjective wellness data, movement assessments, injury treatment, training data, etc. – as soon as they get called up from Double-A to Triple-A, for example, the Triple-A staff will see the athlete on their team’s roster in Kinduct. And if they’re reassigned? Back goes their profile with them to Double-A for the Double-A staff to manage again.

It’s all automated, and it’s really that simple.

Standardized Benchmarks and Assessments

With so many teams and staff under a single organizational umbrella, standardizing protocols such as movement assessments, medical logging, positional training programs, etc. throughout is crucial.

Because of this, we offer a solution that affords standardization across the board – from when an athlete is initially drafted or signed to when they make their debut and move up the ranks, hopefully one day contributing to the 40-man roster.

Kinduct makes it easy to create and implement the language you want to use, the tests you want to complete, and the development plans you feel work best. All athletes that come through your organization will be communicated with and measured by these standards, as Kinduct keeps a secure record of these internal methods.

Baseball-specific Integrations

Working with baseball teams for so long means we understand the technology used in the sport. This list of integration partners is headlined by two partners in particular: MLBAM and StatCast. Major League teams can set up an automated pull of statistics and aggregated data sets produced by these technologies after each game.

We also offer a connection to Athlete RMS. Because our platform is HIPAA compliant, athletes’ medical records can be stored in your Kinduct platform and be uploaded pending a situation such as a player being acquired mid-season. Having this information readily available also provides strength/performance staff a chance to stay in the know of each athlete’s status.

Other key integrations include:

  • Wearables like WHOOP and Polar
  • VBT units such as PUSH and Gymaware
  • InBody
  • Rapsodo and Blastmotion
  • DiamondKinetics
  • TrackMan Baseball
  • And force plates like VALD’s Forcedecks and Hawkin Dynamics

Linked Forms and Reports

Data collection is a requirement when it comes to high-level athletes now, and our Forms tool meets that need.

Forms used for workload tracking (i.e. what did this person do today – bullpen, batting cage, fielding drills with scale of how hard they went) and movement assessments / performance testing during spring training are two popular ones we offer.

Forms can be completed manually by staff, or sent to athletes via out Human Performance App, notifying athletes when they are to be completed by, such as a daily wellness journal.

What makes these forms even better, though, is that they are linked to reports in our platform. Data from forms can be combined from objective measuring devices to create single reports and dashboards. And following proper analysis, these reports are easy to print off and share with rightful stakeholders and serve as a key communication piece when addressing which staff members are handling certain player’s rehabs or strength training work.

Training Programs

On the topic of strength training, have you heard about our program building tool? It lets users build strength training blocks as well as rehab programming – adding value to both the performance and medical sides of organization.

These programs can be supported by our content library, which hosts 8000+ exercise videos, and can be built for different time periods and blocks. Administering programs via the Kinduct app is especially handy during off season when players may be training remotely.
