Kinduct announced today their strategic collaboration agreement with Abhinav Futuristics Limited (AFL). The agreement will see AFL lead business development efforts for Kinduct and its Athlete Management System (AMS) throughout India. The two parties will also join forces on product support and sport science to offer mutual clients in the region a world-class resource for managing and monitoring their athletes.

Abhinav Bindra — India’s first and only Olympic gold medalist in a single’s event — founded AFL and has been a pioneer in the country’s drive toward a larger use of sports science and data analytics. Abhinav, along with his allied health and wellness team led by Dr Digpal Rawandra, bring a wealth of experience to the strategic collaboration agreement with Kinduct.

Speaking about the partnership, Abhinav Bindra said, “The Indian sports ecosystem has steadily begun to adopt a more objective form of training and assessment, and look beyond its borders for best practices. With Kinduct and its AMS on hand, AFL can look at encouraging this trend, facilitating technology intervention, and help the ecosystem realize its true potential.”

“We’re excited at the possibilities that lie ahead for us through this partnership. In the last three years we have worked with over 5000 Athletes and other clients as pioneers of sport science and technology in the country, and going forward, Kinduct could become pivotal in reaching out to more across the country,” said Dr. Digpal Ranawat, Director, AFL.

The agreement is very timely for both AFL and Kinduct as India is currently experiencing significant growth in their professional sports industry, and this momentum has created a spike in participation of youth sports. Due to this growth, the sports market has begun adopting a data-driven approach to performance, which presents the corresponding need for sports technology such as an athlete management system.

“We’re honoured to be working with Abhinav and his team on this exciting collaboration. Both parties agree that the time is right in India to truly invest in athletic technology, and we believe that there’s no better way to begin this journey than with AFL,” said Dr Travis McDonough, CEO and Founder of Kinduct.

Frank McKinnon, Kinduct’s VP of APAC, added: “We’re extremely excited about the strategic alignment with AFL and the overall value and breadth of services that can now collectively be provided to clients in India. Also, our companies’ alignment in vision, especially with regards to youth sports, will help foster new opportunities for years to come.”
